Number one in the world…
With the Minion DHF, proven elements such as slanted lugs for low rolling resistance and smooth running were combined with cut lugs for more grip. This makes it the perfect all-rounder for enduro and freeride use. Due to the excellent directional stability and the cornering stability, it offers a clearly defined limit area, so that it is recommended for everyone.
Tubeless Ready (TR)
tube tubeless tires have many advantages: You can drive with less air pressure. This gives better traction and reduces rolling resistance. And where there is no tube , the risk of punctures is also reduced. MAXXIS TR tires are better prepared for mounting with sealant than other “tubeless ready” tires. The bead our TR tire is that of a real Tax tube losreifen complete with a layer of rubber coated. This is the tube losmontage on all wheels with standard dimensions already at the first inflation and with little liquid successful.
“Normal” MAXXIS MTB tires can also be mounted tubeless with sealant like tires from other manufacturers, as the carcass fabric is very dense.
However, only the new MAXXIS TR models are officially approved for tubeless assembly and guaranteed by MAXXIS. The tubeless assembly of other models is at your own risk.
Note: We strongly advise against the use of sealant containing ammonia. Ammonia has been shown to attack the carcass and, depending on the amount used, can weaken it by up to 30% after just a few months.
EXO+ Protection
Maxxi’s new EXO+ construction combines two of the best puncture protection materials: SilkShield and EXO. The SilkShield layer wraps the entire tire from bead to bead, the EXO layer is mounted on the sidewalls. Together, the EXO+ results in the following advantages: 27% better puncture protection on the tread, 51% more stable sidewall, 28% more puncture protection compared to the proven, stable EXO carcass.
Tires with EXO+ Protection are designed for aggressive trail riding and enduro racing and are ideal for the higher torque and weight that e-MTBs experience.
Note: In 2022 there will be a “running change” procedure for Maxxis tires with EXO+ carcass. Unfortunately we have no influence on when which tire will be delivered in which version and ask for your understanding.
The EXO+ carcass has been revised and is now even more robust. The revised version uses a 60 TPI carcass instead of 120 TPI. The Silkshield is omitted, the EXO sidewall protection has been reinforced and a butyl insert on the bead has been added. The weight is 1 to 5% higher.
3C MaxxTerra
3C MaxxTerra is the optimal three-layer rubber compound for our enduro and freeride tires. Ease of movement uphill and the best grip downhill characterize this mixture as well as a long service life.
